Study on Multi-territory licensing for the online
distribution of audiovisual works in the European Union (in progress)
SUMMARY
Study for the European Commission, DG Information Society and MEDIA
which will aim to:
- Analyse the legal framework and the prevailing practices for
the licensing of audiovisual works for online distribution in Member
States
- Describe the structure of the online distribution sector and the
relevant market in the EU Member States
- Assess the present and future main challenges of the development
of a multi-territory business model in the different Members States
and possibly the Union as a whole
- Analyse economic and cultural consequences that could be the result
of the development of a multi-territory distribution business model
- Describe policy options that could foster the development of multi-territory
distribution mechanisms and business models for online distribution
of audiovisual works
